I have recently discovered maybe I have become a "homesteader" and have thus updated my blog to reflect this newfound revelation.

This month my crafting focus will be primarily focused on my storyboard afghan, well intermittently at least. I do plan on making other things as well. Currently I have a plarn backpack in progress (it is based upon my stuff sack pattern). I also want to make a plarn wristlet and a teapot cozy.
So far I have 2 of these, and I also plan on making a teal one (to represent cervical cancer awareness) also a pink one.

Awareness ribbon counted afghan square (with link to pattern)
I love this patern. It is just one of the beautiful afghan square patrerns offered by this website. I plan on making multiples of these squares for different causes. It is going to be apart of what I call my storyboard afghan. This storyboard afghan is going to be in commendation of my upcoming college graduation from Texas Christian University. I will post pics of my squares as I go, and of course the entire afghan will be viewable on my blog upon completion! View pattern at Crochet N' more

Capri sun earth weekend (day) projects
So I had all these Capri sun pouches from my craft night on campus this past week so I figured I'd try out some of the things i saw online that I liked. And here are some of the things I came up with:
And this one I found on another blog, you can find the basic pattern (no credit card pockets) here:

Stuff sack (with pattern)
I'm loving my new backpack. It is so cute as previously mentioned on ravelry:
This backpack is based upon a pattern that was available in one of those leaflet books you buy in the yarn dept (like the free patterns that you find hanging by the yarn). Anyway my book got ruined and thrown away and the backpack I had made was lost so I improvised this design based upon my memory (now 7 years old!) because I really liked this backpack and I have not since found the pattern again or the leaflet in print. So there is a pattern like this somewhere, but I just do not know where. If anyone recognizes it please tell me where I can find it. Until then this will be a cute alternative!
I used cardboard for the base to make a sturdy bottom. This pattern could easily be modified to be bigger by simply adding more rows of dc (you could also use bigger pieces of cardboard to make the bottom bigger). I used to short sides from a diaper box.
My pattern as follows:
Base Make 2: ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hk and across. Rep until piece covers the cardboard
After you have made 2 pieces, place one on each side of the cardboard, working through both thicknesses (with cardboard on inside) ch1, sc in each st around placing 2 sc on each corner st
Rnd 1-2: sc around, place 2 sc in each corner st, do not join
Rnd 3: sl st to first st, ch 3, dc around, (do NOT place 2 dc in corner sts) join, cont. in the rnd in this manner until piece measures --"
Rnd 4: join with sl st to top of ch 3, ch 1, work sc around, join
Rnd 5-6: sc around join,
Rnd 7: ch 2, hdc in joined st, *ch 1, sk next st, hdc in next* around, join
Rnd 8: sc around, fasten off
For straps: join yarn w/ sl st at bottom right corner of backside, ch 111, turn sc, fasten off. Weave end of cord through the hdc row on backpack then secure end at opposite bottom corner to create straps

My drink pouch purse
Well after spending time getting inspiration online, I have now assembled my first drink pouch up-cycled product. It's a purse and it only took 1 box of Capri sun (10 pouches). I made the handles from the nylon type handles that come on tote bags, I found a cheap tote bag at a thrift store and ripped the seams to use for my drink pouch purse.
Cervical cancer awareness block
Today I finished another awareness square, in turquoise. This one is for cervical/uterine/ovarian awareness. There are a few websites that identify awareness ribbons by color.
So here is one of the awareness ribbon pages I like Click here
