Plarn tote

Warning all materials are 100% up-cycled materials!

I found a bag similar to this on Ravelry. I was having some issues following the pattern so I decided to go off on a whim of my own and this is what I cam up with! This bag is super easy. I used plastic bag yarn (aka plarn) to make the body and then I lined it with an old tote bag that i found at a thrift shop (the same one I used the handles from for the capri sun bag!)

My drink pouch purse

Well after spending time getting inspiration online, I have now assembled my first drink pouch up-cycled product. It's a purse and it only took 1 box of Capri sun (10 pouches). I made the handles from the nylon type handles that come on tote bags, I found a cheap tote bag at a thrift store and ripped the seams to use for my drink pouch purse.

Cervical cancer awareness block

Up-cycled Drink pouches

I found some cute ideas for upcycling drink pouches I'd like to share... I know everyone already knows about drink pouch backpacks and purses, it's old news, get off it. But this is better then that and It might even turn out to be insuring for others, so I wanted to share This blog I foun by Bez White she also has her own book About upcycling, she calls it sewing green!

Sparkle coin purse

Here is an idea I came up with. I found this little coin purse in the office I work at, nobody seemed to want it so I just grabbed it and thought I could make this pretty! So I crocheted this little cover and sewed it to the coin purse to create the final product of a pretty (spraklely) coin purse with a keychain!

front- ch 15, sc in 2nd ch and each ch across

row 2-5: ch 3, 2 dc in first st. *sk next, 3 dc in next st* across.

fasten off.

back- reattach yarn with sl st to first ch on the foundation ch (working thru unused lps) 14 sc,

follow pattern for rows 2-5. fasten off. sew side seams (w/ yarn, before attaching) now sew the tops to the coin pouch. attach yarn at corner and ch 10, anchor with sc.

Finally complete!

I finally completed the gauntlets for my mom! I changed up the pattern a bit so they would be knit on RS (st st) rather than the pattern st that created ridges (k 1 row, p next). I'm not a fan of the ridged look that the designer made for the pattern. It really was a simple change I just knitted the whole glove in place of the pattern st. My current project(s)

Well my mom asked me To make her some gauntlets (fingerless gloves) for a Christmas presen just days before Christmas. Now days later I am still working on something that would normally have taken me just a few hours. Well first I ran out of yarn, then I couldn't find that yarn so I had to buy a different one, now I must start over because the new yarn is a completely different shade of brown. Then I started some slippers as an added gift for her in the downtime of my quest to find the brown yarn. Now I have ran out of the slippers yarn as well just inches before the completion of the second sock! I am not having a good project week.
